You say either your heart shows you are worthy of life or it doesn't. Our actions are what God judges us by. Be glad there is yet time to act. I know exactly how how you feel because our backgrounds are similar. Jehovah is lovingly providing this time for all to show repentence and follow Jesus' example.
Don't be so hard on yourself and just be you. The fact that you say you want to know Him shows you are worthy.

I don't find obedience so hard to swallow. As for barbarism, those are your thoughts. Let's put the onus where it rightly belongs, on Satan's shoulders. When Jehovah is done cleaning up after all the mess he started, it will be well worth while.

i only said what I did to you Rosemarie because you seem confused as to whether you want to know God or not. If you are trying to please people you are robbing yourself of your true identity. We should all be selfish enough to please ourselves first. With my belief in Jehovah, i can honestly say i am very pleased with myself. My belief isn't for everyone though. It's a personal choice we all have to make. I feel terrible when i read about so many turning away from Jehovah because to me it is the only way.

i too choose to love and understand the loveable and understandable. If God isn't loving would any of us be here? Would anyone have a hope of everlasting life on a paradise earth? The examples of destruction in the bible are pictures for us to understand the seriousness of His sovereignty. We are all being warned of the impending destruction of this system and it's everyone's choice to obey God or turn our backs on Him and be destroyed.

You say you do not love or understand Jehovah. You think you want to but are not sure. If you have been a Witness in your past you know that you only have to call on Jehovah with a true heart and He is not far off from any who seek him out. It looks like you are trying to be someone you aren't so you can be accepted here. Just try being yourself. You will likely be surprised at what a wonderful person you really are.

There is a scripture about religions doing things at the 'time of the end' to please people to get them to believe them. Shouldn't the peopple change instead of the belief? If the belief has been good enough for centuries, isn't it good enough now? The basics Jesus taught are still relevent. If you believe all scripture is inspired why change? Civilizations have advanced beyond all predictions lately but humans still have the same inborn needs.

minimus, You have confirmed my point exactly. Those with doubts (question their faith) will come here and be swayed. They likely would have left anyway. The net nowdays may just make it easier to do what they would have done anyway. I'm not saying it's right or wrong, it just is. Those with a firm belief don't need this site or any that are similar.
It would be interesting to hear from ones who left, based on their internet search.

The question was, Has the internet hurt the JWs?
I say it has not and will not because only ones who are questioning their faith will even look on the net. Any who are called on and show interest will only have more questions to be answered because of the exposure this and other like sites give the witnesses. Normally they aren't affected either way but will be curious by reading here and will want more information from the JWs. After all, most here are disgruntled ex's with a grudge. If I wanted answers, I'd go to the source.

In one way I'm new here but not really as I've been following along for months. This subject got me thinking though. I'd guess 99.9 per cent of you were already out of the org. or well on your way when you got involved on the net, let alone this site. That doesn't particularly look like the net will draw anyone out that isn't already predisposed. You'd have to be questioning your beliefs to even be here as the WTS frowns on these sites.
